Did you know that apartheid still exists in supposedly post-apartheid South Africa? The towns of Kleinfontein and Orania are Whites only. Illegal, you’d think – but so far, they’ve resisted legal challenges, citing the constitution’s ‘right to self-determination.’ In this video, we reveal just how racist the first of these is – by listening to the words of Kleinfontein‘s residents and finding out just who is remembered in its memorial park.

Apartheid was a neocolonial, white supremacist capitalist economy. Too often apartheid in South Africa is reduced to racial segregation within our domestic borders. The best example of apartheid in a black country on a black continent is the extent of white minority control (both foreign and domestic) of our African land, our central/reserve bank which is privately owned, our mining industry, banking and finance industry and all other industries, the disproportionate rate of development and ease of access to and comparative increase in group wealth and income during the democracy, as well as the extent of white minority affirmative action in company hiring and promotions in a black country on a black continent. The extent of influence and control over the system is how you know apartheid did not end, it merely evolved into liberal capitalism for thirty years. An Afrikaner socialist hideout for fans of Verwoed relying on cultural “white supremacy” (we are somehow collectively culturally superior) and who could have saved themselves a lot of grief by emigrating is not the true apartheid. The system is and the extent of their control over it.
