You can’t help but see similarities between these US Navy barracks and the Nazi swastika. The four L-shaped buildings are even rotated 45 degrees off north, the same way the Nazis displayed the symbol.
They were built in the 1960s at the Naval Amphibious Base in San Diego Bay. Subsequently, authorities have described them as an ‘oversight’ by the planners at the time. Apparently, the issue was known during construction, but it was assumed the public wouldn’t notice. Well, that changed when Google Earth came on the scene and eagle-eyed internet users spotted the resemblance.
Since then, the Navy’s promised to camouflage the buildings or even make them square. But, as you can see from this latest Google Earth image, they remain as they always were, the shape of a swastika. Surely it’s time something’s done to end the Nazi likeness?
Many people have complained and, as far as we’re concerned, quite rightly. Nazism’s brutality was copied from earlier British and French empires. The subjugation and exploitation of Africans provided a template that was perfected by Hitler in his quest for a thousand-year Reich. And the history of domination, especially of Africans by a so-called superior race, is one that’s evoked by Nazi symbols.
